This Saturday, May 10, marks the start of the 42nd edition of the “Warszawa w kwiatach” competition with a festive garden-themed picnic in Żeromski Park, Żoliborz. The event welcomes the new gardening season with a day full of activities and attractions for all generations.
From 12:00 to 17:00, the park will come alive with plant-based workshops, gardening and floristry demonstrations, expert consultations, and an interactive flower-themed quiz. Visitors will also be able to explore various stands hosted by the event’s organizers and partners. A special photo exhibition showcasing last year’s competition winners will be on display in the outdoor gallery “Przystanek,” located along the park fence. At 13:30, an educational walk through the park will offer insight into local greenery, followed by a live acoustic concert at 16:15 by the band Accoustic Shapes, bringing the day’s festivities to a close.
The garden picnic is open to the public and free of charge.
The “Warszawa w kwiatach” competition celebrates the capital’s greenest and most flower-filled spaces. Open to adult residents of Warsaw, as well as housing cooperatives, institutions, schools, and businesses, the contest will accept entries from May 15 to June 30.
Participants may enter in the following categories:
A new category this year, the Residents’ Choice: Biodiversity Award, allows the public to vote for their favorite natural, untamed green space in the city. Online voting runs from August 1 to 30. The winners of all categories will be announced during the final picnic on September 13 at Pole Mokotowskie.
