Benefit Concert for Ukrainian Refugees

ASF is hosting Celebrating Hope – Фестиваль Надії, a benefit concert for the residents of Centrum Pomocy Humanitarnej Modalinska, a refugee center in Warsaw. The event aims to raise funds and bring emotional support through music and dance.

Artists Sans Frontières (ASF NGO) believes that the performing arts are essential, which is why they bring dance, music, and theatre classes, workshops, and performances to areas impacted by war, violence, conflict, and natural disasters. Since June 2022, Team ASF has brought dance and music classes to children and adults in one of Warsaw’s largest Ukrainian refugee centers, Centrum Pomocy Humanitarnej Modalinska. Now, Team ASF is working with local and international talent, supporters, partners, and refugees + displaced artists in order to create a fundraising concert for the residents of Modlinska center.

About Modlinska: Since its inception, CPH Modalinska has helped over 55,000 Ukrainian, Belarusian, and (abandoned) Russian refugees and displaced individuals. The shelter has provided over 1,500,000 meals and has assisted in relocating over 30,000 residents. Currently, Modlinska houses approximately 1,000 permanent refugee residents. 

On Saturday, 13^th May, 2023, ASF presents Celebrating Hope – Фестиваль Надії – a benefit concert celebrating the residents of Modlinska as well as commemorating the staff, volunteers, and administrators that facilitate Modlinska’s operations. The aim of the concert is to bring positive mental health and emotional support to the residents and staff of the center through performing arts entertainment as well as to raise much-needed funds for the shelter.

The concert will include:

• Children’s dance recital of children residents including Ballet, hip hop, and acrobatic performances learned throughout ASF’s outreach
• International guest dance and musical artists
• Dancers from Belarus, Belgium, Hungary, Poland, Ukraine, USA, and South Africa
• Ukrainian singer/songwriter premiering original songs
• Video screening of documentary of children’s experiences in dance classes + creative workshops with ASF
• A special surprise for the residents
• Recognition of Modlinska Coordinators and Staff Administration
