Best of Summer in Warsaw 2025: Legend Adrian Nahorny

Insider:Iskra was pure summer energy—sunlight, DJs, friends, freedom. What do you think made it resonate so deeply with Warsaw’s crowd?

There’s no simple answer to that. Iskra operated for nearly a decade, and during that time, it evolved continuously. My business partner and I were always looking for ways to develop it further, while staying in step with changing trends and expectations.

Sure, we had parties with big names like Kelis, Fatboy Slim, Mobb Deep, Tricky, and Evidence—but we also made a conscious effort to include cultural and family-friendly programming. Things that seem obvious now, like outdoor cinemas, stand-up shows, workout sessions, or culinary picnics, were far from mainstream back in 2013.I hope people still remember Iskra for all those different layers.

You’ve always had a sharp feel for the cultural pulse—music, design, food, media. What’s changed most in how people in Warsaw want to spend their nights?

Without a doubt, COVID had the biggest impact.

Every time lockdowns lifted—especially in the summer—people were desperate for connection. At Iskra, we were throwing parties even on Tuesdays just to meet that need. But over time, I think the social landscape shifted. Instead of clubbing, people started preferring smaller gatherings at home or dinners in restaurants.

That said, summer still brings a strong trend for outdoor events and daytime parties in cafés—and that’s definitely growing. But classic clubbing, the way we used to know it, has changed significantly.

What first sparked your interest in the urban fabric of Warsaw?

It really began after the closure of my first venue, U Artystów, around 2006.

Soon after, I was offered a position as a selector at the legendary Mono Bar—which, at the time, was iconic in Warsaw’s nightlife.

That was a wild and formative period. I met a huge number of people from the artistic and party scenes. I’m naturally outgoing, so many of those connections became real friendships that still last today.

When you’re immersed like that, you catch the bug. You stay tuned into how people want to experience the city and where they want to gather. That’s what set me on the path as a promoter—and ultimately led to Iskra.

It was a magical time. Shout-out to everyone who remembers it.

Can you tell us what you’re working on now—and the kind of vibe you’re chasing with it?

Outside of my business in artist and corporate transportation, I’ve recently returned to hospitality.

Together with my business partner Mania, we won a tender for a riverside pavilion on the Vistula Boulevards. We’re opening a breakfast bistro called Messa, with a strong focus on drinks and wines.

We’re in the final prep stages now, so hopefully we’ll be seeing each other there soon!

What makes a perfect summer night for you these days? Has your idea of a great evening changed?

The days of partying every weekend are behind me—and probably for good. Partly it’s an age thing, but it’s also about time. I have a lot on my plate now and not much room for that kind of lifestyle anymore.

That said, I still love getting together with friends and occasionally letting loose on the dance floor. Those who’ve known me a while will remember I used to do that pretty often 😉

These days, the perfect night is a relaxed evening with people close to me, some good food and drinks… and maybe a spontaneous stop by my favorite club. But not too often 😉

If you could add one new kind of place or experience to Warsaw this summer—something that’s missing—what would it be?

I think there’s a real need for an outdoor venue that caters specifically to people 25 and up.

There’s Splot Słoneczny, which I love, but it’s more of a daytime vibe. I think there’s still space to create something special in that category.

You’ve done clubs, content, and concepts. What’s the thread that connects it all for you?

I’ve always tried to really be part of the places I helped build—physically, emotionally, creatively. You could almost always find me there. That closeness created a bond with the people who came, and it also gave me the chance to shape what would happen the next day.

Of course, not everything always worked out, and not every idea was a hit. But I was lucky to be surrounded by amazing people, and together, we made some beautiful things happen.

I’m deeply grateful for that—and I want to say a big thank you to everyone I’ve met along the way.
