Best of Warsaw 2024: Ramen

Best of the Best

Fat Cat

Everyone loves ramen like they love pizza—it’s bold, comforting, and guaranteed to spark debate over where to find the best bowl. Our trip to Bródno started with an Uber driver mentioning how often he drops people off at this new spot, curious about the hype around Fat Cat. The surprise? Unconventional flavors, like a few thin kielbasas floating in the tantanmen—an eyebrow-raiser, sure, but somehow, it works. After all, we’re in Poland. True to the spirit of risk-taking, chef Petro and his team pull it off flawlessly, with lines forming the moment the doors open.

Ramen from Uki Uki in Warsaw

Uki Uki Zgoda

Uki Uki has been shaping Warsaw’s noodle scene since 2015, and its latest outpost on Zgoda Street only strengthens its legacy. Known for hand-crafted Sanuki udon made with Hokkaido wheat, the shop delivers springy, flawless noodles in rich broths or umami-packed dipping sauces. Tempura is light and crisp, while fusion udon options like tantan and curry showcase playful creativity. With vintage Japanese décor and a hidden 100-year-old demon statue, Uki Uki is more than a meal—it’s an experience worth the wait.

Vegan Ramen Shop

Vegan Ramen Shop has become a go-to for some of the best ramen in Warsaw—vegan or otherwise. Ranked seventh on HappyCow’s city-wide list, it’s drawn raves like “the best ramen I’ve ever eaten in my life.” Co-founder Maja Święcicka credits their success to obsessive research and unwavering consistency. The Spicy Miso Ramen is a standout: a rich, fiery broth packed with noodles, pak choi, and chili. Add in a cool crowd, loud beats, and a neon-lit vibe, and you’ve got a must-visit destination.

Yatta ramen BBQ

Filled with cartoon-like illustrative art and generous slashes of neon, Yatta are the latest Japanese venture to try their hand in this area. Highly competent in their execution, the busy, youthful vibe reflects the mood, philosophy and quality of the food. Heaped with pickles, spring onions and squirts of chili mayo the Soboro fries are essential. Given their name, the ramen is of course the main reason to visit, but do also scope out their ribs and chicken skewers. There’s something good happening here, and it’s not just the people of Muranów that know it!
