Good news for Warsaw’s music lovers — the city’s beloved Chopin tram isn’t rolling to a stop just yet. Originally scheduled to conclude earlier, the special musical tram has proved such a hit with passengers that its journey through Warsaw has been extended until Sunday, October 19th.
Crisscrossing the capital since October 6th to mark the 19th International Fryderyk Chopin Piano Competition, this is no ordinary tram. Step aboard, and you’ll find yourself immersed in the sounds of Chopin — a moving salon where live piano music mingles with history, storytelling, and a celebration of Warsaw’s most famous composer.
Each ride brings something new: young pianists such as Maciej Smoląg, Jan Nicewicz, Wojciech Kruczek, Paweł Wojciechowski, Józef Domżał, Margarite Latypova, and Szymon Drabiński perform Chopin’s timeless works live, transforming a simple tram ride into a cultural experience.
From now through Sunday, passengers can catch the tram for four daily runs, all starting from the Wola Depot and following a scenic route through central Warsaw before looping back:
14:00 – with a pianist
15:00 – with a pianist
16:30 – with a varsavianist
17:30 – with a pianist
At 4:30 PM, the experience deepens further — during these special runs, Marek Bykowski, an expert on Chopin and former Chancellor of the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music, leads engaging talks about the composer’s life and his lasting connection to the city.
Whether you’re a lifelong fan of Chopin or simply looking for a uniquely Warsaw way to travel, this is your chance to let the city’s rhythm — and Chopin’s melodies — carry you away. The tram runs only until Sunday, October 19th, so catch it while you can.
