The Czech Culture Weekend offers a rich blend of cinema, live music, traditional crafts, and culinary delights. According to Klaudiusz Ostrowski, Deputy Mayor of the Ursynów District, this year’s edition invites attendees to explore the essence of Czech culture through its cinema, sounds, flavors and everyday traditions.

In addition to many other attractions, Saturday film screenings are also planned. The program kicks off with three unique Czech films:

• Na skraju lasu (1976), dir. Jiří Menzel
  A classic Czech comedy capturing the aspirations of a family dreaming of a countryside home. Known for his signature warmth and wit, Menzel paints a humorous yet thoughtful portrait of 1970s Czechoslovakia.
• Mord (2024), dir. Adam Martinec
  A modern family drama set during a traditional pig slaughter, offering a raw, intergenerational reflection deeply rooted in Czech culture. The debut film by Martinec presents a nuanced look at contemporary familial bonds.
• Zagubieni (2015), followed by a Q&A with director Petr Zelenka
  One of the most acclaimed Czech filmmakers, Zelenka will discuss his work after the screening, moderated by journalist and film critic Marcin Radomski.

On Sunday, there will be a Czech market and live concerts.

Starting at 11:00 AM, the outdoor space by the Ursynów District Office will transform into a bustling Czech market. Attendees can taste traditional foods and drinks, explore handmade crafts and enjoy live folk performances.

The afternoon concert lineup features:

• Kapela Šoulet – A high-energy band from Prague blending folk with punk in a unique “polkapunk” style. Their performance in Warsaw marks their Polish debut.
• Ruky na Dudy – Musicians from the Silesian-Moravian Beskids presenting traditional folk sounds with authentic regional instruments.
• Lenka Dusilová – The evening headliner, a celebrated Czech vocalist and composer, will showcase her genre-blending music. Dusilová, a nine-time Anděl Award winner, fuses rock, folk, electronica, and experimental sounds.

Throughout the day, a dedicated educational zone will host bloggers and travelers sharing their Czech inspirations, creating a full cultural immersion.
