On August 30 Warsaw’s night sky will transform into a breathtaking spectacle to honor the 80th anniversary of the Warsaw Uprising. In a unique tribute, hundreds of drones equipped with LED lights will perform a mesmerizing show titled “W as in Freedom”
The Warsaw Uprising of 1944 is a key chapter in Poland’s history, symbolizing the fight for freedom against Nazi occupation. This year, the commemoration was brought to life in a modern, captivating way that blended history with cutting-edge technology.
As the drones danced across the sky, they formed powerful symbols like the Kotwica (Anchor) of the Polish resistance and the word “Wolność” (Freedom), creating a moving tribute that was both visually stunning and emotionally resonant.
For tourists, this event was a perfect introduction to Poland’s rich history. Warsaw, with its deep historical roots and vibrant culture, offers a fascinating destination for travelers looking to experience both the past and the present.
The drones show will take place on August 30, 2024 at 9:30 p.m. The show will last about 12 minutes and can be observable from the Vistula boulevard of Gen. George Smith Patton – at the height of the Museum of Modern Art pavilion.
