Burger Bar
When they opened in 2012 in a glorified side street shack, who would’ve known this unassuming joint would spark a dude food revolution: things got so nutty that within months it’d spurned over a hundred copycats in Warsaw alone. With the pretenders running out of steam, the city’s original new wave burgery remains its best by a factor too high to measure. But beyond a whole range of specialty burgers compiled from Hereford, Black Angus or Rib Eye beef, hit them up for habanero hot wings, surprisingly good renditions of Tex Mex dishes and commendable attempts at Chinese dishes from their sister operation Pekin Ekspres.
Krowarzywa
No matter how much you think about it, there’s something wrong about a burger without meat. So how could something so wrong be so right? That these vegeburgers have won carnivores over says it all – in fact, not all that long back it was voted Warsaw’s best burger. Using 100% plant-based products, here’s a place that strikes gold every time. Our favorite? The cieciorex chickpea burger. Bydło i Powidło
It’s the creativity of Bydło i Powidło that stands out, as well as their commitment to making something magic from such a basic premise. Served with gorgonzola cheese, blanched spinach, jalapenos and whiskey sauce, the Twin Peaks is as weird and memorable as the show that inspired it. A step above the norm, even the fries here come pimped up with parsley, truffle oil and Grana Padano cheese.
TGI Fridays
No intro needed, Friday’s continues to be one of the Room Service’s top performing members. Whilst perhaps the burger wars of 2012 originally left Fridays flailing, their response proved swift and dynamic: modernized for the demands of the 21st century burger gourmand, the immense choice of classics and newbies prompts hard decisions. And as you’ll already no doubt know, there’s more to here than burgers alone.
Jeff’s
Another stalwart cut from the Fridays mould, Jeff’s succinct range of burgers cover most desires: from vegan to kimchi to the good ole’ Texas BBQ. The surprise, if there is one, is the standard of the ribs.
