The 13th edition of Free November has arrived! Throughout November, visitors can enjoy exhibitions and tour some of Warsaw’s most significant museums at no cost. Kicking off the festivities, a guided tour of the Royal Theatre will take place on November 3.
This initiative, organized by the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage, includes several notable venues: the Royal Castle in Warsaw (November 9-10), the Museum of the Palace of King Jan III in Wilanów (November 16-17), and the Royal Łazienki Museum (November 29-30).
Each of these institutions offers insights into Polish history, culture, and identity, while also looking toward the future. This year’s program is particularly inclusive, featuring a variety of exhibitions, workshops, and performances designed to engage visitors of all ages.
Royal Castle in Warsaw

On the weekend of November 9-10, the Royal Castle will celebrate the symbolic completion of its long-term reconstruction. For the first time, visitors can view the royal throne in all its glory, complete with a reconstructed enclosure, canopy, and backdrop. During this weekend, the Royal Castle Museum will offer free admission to its permanent exhibitions at designated times.
Special offerings on November 9-10 include free tours of the Royal Route and themed walks celebrating the restoration of King Stanisław August’s throne in the Throne Room. Families can also participate in creative workshops. Additionally, throughout November, visitors can access the Lanckoroński Gallery for free (open Tuesday to Sunday), showcasing over 600 exhibits, including European paintings, sculptures, and decorative arts. On Wednesdays, free tours of the entire castle, including the Royal Route and the Lanckoroński Gallery, will be available, along with access to the exhibition “Destruction and Reconstruction of the Royal Castle in Warsaw” and the castle gardens. A special event titled Key in the Castle will explore contemporary art in dialogue with the museum’s collection.
Museum of the Palace of King Jan III in Wilanów

On the second weekend of November, November 16-17, 50 small groups will have the chance to participate in the Visit with the King program for free. Special activities will include family workshops like Dance Like in the Palace and various Kamishibai storytelling workshops. The palace is open daily from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM, except on Tuesdays when it is closed. The park is open daily from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Note: both the palace and park will be closed to visitors on November 1.
Royal Łazienki Museum

The Royal Łazienki Museum will offer free admission to all permanent exhibitions throughout November, including the Palace on the Isle, the Old Orangery with the Royal Sculpture Gallery and Royal Theatre, the Myślewicki Palace, and the Hunting and Equestrian Museum.
On November 29-30, the museum will host a special program titled Royal Spectacle, featuring educational activities for individual visitors. The program includes themed walks commemorating the 193rd anniversary of the November Uprising, workshops for all ages, and guided tours of the exhibition The Iconosphere of Wyspiański: November Night at the Royal Łazienki. Additional events include a tour of the Royal Theatre on November 3 and interactions with reenactors from the Stanisław Society to celebrate the anniversary of King Stanisław August’s coronation on November 16.
