Premises built in the 18th century, locally known as Branicki and Szaniawski Palaces, have played several roles throughout the ages. Now, the time has come for a new chapter in their history. Two of Warsaw’s palaces reopen their doors for guests after 8 years of revitalisation. The boutique hotel Verte, located in the palaces, is the first Polish facility signed by Marriott Autograph Collection.
In the very heart of the city of Warsaw, in the Old Town, there are two adjacent palaces – Szaniawski and Branicki Palace. Both were built at the beginning of the 18th century, and, since then, they have often changed owners, undergone thorough reconstructions, and been assigned various functions. Their turbulent fate was interrupted by World War II, during which the whole city was completely destroyed. The capital was rebuilt from the ashes in the 50s, together with its historic palaces, which had always remained a part of the urban tissue. To recreate them as faithfully as possible, architects took inspiration from works of Bernardo Bellotto, a portraitist of Warsaw, commonly known as Canaletto.
After 8 years of revitalisation, Szaniawski and Branicki Palaces were reopened for residents of the city and its visitors. Thanks to modernisation, the interior has lost its raw character and gained some extraordinary chic. The design of the interiors combines the style of historical Warsaw with a modern twist. A fresh approach by architects and respect for the history of the place led to creating a unique space on the map of the capital city – a place full of warm and casual atmosphere, in which everyone will feel welcome.
Each of the 94 hotel rooms has a different interior decor, yet all of them share a unique design, good taste, and the highest quality materials, such as natural wood, cool stone, and fabrics of thick weave. History in the background? It is there, but, similarly to works of Canaletto who interpreted and embellished the portrayed towns, its presence is not that transparent. This is a perfect place for a business trip to Warsaw, a short family city break, as well as for a weekend for two.
Verte Warsaw Autograph Collection is not only a hotel but also a space for meetings. A modern, glazed pavilion invites visitors and city residents for delicious, healthy breakfasts with friends and family, while the palace garden encourages spending sunny mornings with a cup of aromatic coffee and having evening cocktails with a unique view of the Old Town walls. Enjoy time at KUK restaurant, which provides lunches and suppers in bistronomy style, combining the home-grown with the unique.
Family meetings? Occasional events? Or maybe a business conference? Nothing is impossible for Verte. This unconventional, 800 m² space is able to meet every, even the most demanding challenge, thanks to the combination of historic interiors with modern solutions. Boutique hotels Marriott Autograph Collection represent a creative approach, fresh concept, and going beyond the rigid pattern. The collection includes hotels located in different parts of the world, each of them being unique. Inspired by history, culture, and art, these modern concepts go far beyond the well-known. Now, not only the residents of Warsaw, but also its visitors, can experience it for themselves.
