Coming up this weekend, Witek Iwański, from the hub.praga restaurant, is set to charm all with his auteur version of street dining…
After the uber successful July weekend with Epoka restaurant, the time has come for another unconventional event at Nocny Market. This time around the cult venues hosts hub.praga along with their head chef, Witek Iwański. Formerly the head chef at the Raffles Europejski, and previously the recipient of the Chef de L’Avenir award, Iwański has prepared a specialist pop-up menu to reflect the character of the restaurant whilst injecting it with a playful, street food twist.
Among other things, you’ll be ordering toast with pattypan squash and green sauce, chicken oysters with oyster tartar sauce, donuts (one with duck confit, the other with yakitori duck), and milk ice cream with almond meringue in a poppy-seed cone.
Something of an Insider hero, Iwański’s other titles include our own ‘One To Watch’ award at the Insider’s 2016 Best of Warsaw awards. “Looking to challenge diners,” we wrote at the time, “Iwański’s cooking embraces obscure and unusual ingredients, fine-tuning them using the latest know-how and kitchen magic. A breathlessly exciting talent, the one problem is that his restaurant lies 40 kilometers away.” Not anymore is that an issue.
