Established in 1994, the awards is frequently considered the world’s largest and most prestigious property competition; last year alone saw projects with a combined value of GBP 50 billion participate.
Composed of a 140-meter-tall skyscraper and another 43-meter tower, the 66,000 sq/m project was delivered by the internationally-renowned Chicago architectural studio Goettsch Partners and was carried out by GGH in cooperation with Mennica Polska S.A.
Featuring advanced technological solutions aimed at increasing the efficiency of systems and tenant safety, innovations have included the latest mobile technology enabling users to communicate with the building’s systems using a dedicated app on their smartphones.
Joachim Schuessler, Principal of Goettsch Partners, commented: “We believe that buildings should reach beyond their sites to enhance and transform the urban experience. With its variety of rich programmatic experiences and its large landscaped public outdoor plazas and thoroughfares, Mennica Legacy Tower demonstrates how private real estate developments can positively impact the city. We are honored that the project was selected for this prestigious award.”
