After a two-year hiatus the autumnal Warsaw Independence Run returns once again! It will close the Warsaw Running Triad, following the 3rd May Constitution Run and the Warsaw Uprising Run. Since 2005 the November run covers a 10 kilometer route through the center of Warsaw. Thousands of runners in red and white t-shirts meandering through the capital is a sight to behold.
“Taking part in the Independence Run is an honour. It’s a day to celebrate being Polish in a free country and no other event brings together so many active participants as the Independence Run. I’m proud to be a part of it,” says Marek Tronina, Head of the Warsaw Marathon Foundation, organizers of the event.
The Warsaw Independence Run will begin, traditionally, at 11:11 AM on the 11th of November in commemoration of the 104th anniversary of Poland regaining its independence. This year, aside from the main event, there will also be a 6.5 kilometer Nordic Walking Race and a youths (10-14 years old) Independence Mile Run (1918 meters). All participants will be cheered on by onlooking crowds as well as… a real-life double of the First Marshal of Poland, Józef Piłsudski, in his famous 1934 Cadillac limousine!
Registration for all three events is open now, until 10.11.2022
