On a glum December day, give your cooking a bang with the sauces of Składniki…
Tucked inside one of the Stalinist edifices on upcoming Andersa, Składniki was opened in 2021 after the owner, Michał, spotted a gap in the market. “I wanted to present the kind of Asian ingredients I couldn’t find in other stores,” he says. “Soon enough I realised that there were plenty of quality ingredients in Poland, yet nobody had thought of importing them to Poland. We gave it a go, and it’s turned out pretty well!”
Small as the footprint might be, this small store packs a big punch with its specialties running to hot sauces, organic miso pastes, hard-to-find spices and rare peppers. “You name it,” says Michał. A diamond in the rough, this spot – and its online platform – is already being fast-tracked into legend.

“My favourite sauce,” says Michał, and you’ll soon see why. Combining ripe mango with ginger, habanero peppers, garlic, organic lime and hand-crushed spices, trust this complex, made in Belgium condiment to add pep to your step. The equivalent of a hot, summery kiss, you won’t find it anywhere else in Poland.

“This brand is the idea of a lovely Stockholm-based couple, Elsa and Adrian,” says Michał. “Their goal is to present only the best quality, single origin spices and we just love the fragrance, freshness and intensity of the flavours.” Laab Muang, a spicy blend from Northern Thailand comes personally recommended by Michał, as does Batak. “That’s an Indonesian relative of the Sichuan pepper. It’s floral, deep, zesty. Very special!”
Smoky Chilli Oil by White Mausu
Founded in Ireland by Kate Sanderson, the White Masau label seeks to recapture the tastes she enjoyed during a childhood spent in Hong Kong. This Smoky Chili Oil takes a leap in that direction. Triple-infused and well-seasoned with tamari sauce, sesame oil, garlic and agave syrup, it’s base around various chilli pepper including smoky chipotle morita. “It’s one of those that’s suited to just about everything,” says Michał.
