Every summer, the courtyard of Warsaw’s Royal Castle transforms into one of the city’s most magical open-air concert venues. From July 6 to August 8, the 26th Music Gardens Festival (Ogrody Muzyczne) returns with more than a month of live performances, opera screenings and unforgettable evenings beneath the stars.
This year’s programme is one of the festival’s strongest yet, bringing together world-class artists including acclaimed baritone Artur Ruciński, ten-time Grammy winners TAKE 6, jazz legend Urszula Dudziak, composer Krzesimir Dębski and celebrated Spanish flamenco dancer Rafaela Carrasco. Across 17 live concerts and 14 large-screen opera and concert screenings, audiences can experience everything from classical masterpieces and film scores to jazz, gospel, flamenco and symphonic video game music.
Opening the festival is Americana 250: Ravel & Gershwin, featuring acclaimed pianists Hyuk Lee and Hyo Lee with the Polish Sinfonia Iuventus Orchestra, including Gershwin’s iconic Rhapsody in Blue. Other highlights include Artur Ruciński’s rare Warsaw recital, TAKE 6’s only festival appearance, Krzesimir Dębski’s celebration of his greatest film scores, Heroes Orchestra performing music from beloved video games, and a unique collaboration between Agnieszka Wilczyńska and Urszula Dudziak.
Opera lovers are equally well served, with spectacular screenings from some of Europe’s greatest stages, including Carmen from the Arena di Verona, La Bohème, The Magic Flute, Faust from the Vienna State Opera and much more.
Whether you’re discovering opera for the first time, looking for an unforgettable date night or simply searching for one of Warsaw’s finest summer cultural experiences, Music Gardens offers something for every taste in an extraordinary historic setting.
The festival runs from July 6 until August 8 in the Grand Courtyard of the Royal Castle. Most performances begin at 7:00 pm, with screenings starting at 6:30 pm.
