Nothing announces style more than a made-to-measure shirt; now, that luxury can be yours for a fraction of the expected price…
Launched to much acclaim in India in 2012, The Bombay Shirt Company now find themselves on the Polish market thanks to the dual efforts of Łukasz and Barbara. Touting a history in fashion and media, the pair have made it their business to introduce this cult brand to Polish shores. “Of course there are good tailors here,” says Łukasz, “but they don’t offer much in the way of flexibility – at BSC, however, there are no limits when it comes to designing shirts.”
Aiming to provide a luxurious experience that won’t bleed the bank, the Warsaw division of BSC place an emphasis on convenience – meetings are arranged at either the client’s home or office, with the complete made-to-measure adventure brought right to your doorstep. “We’ll bring everything to you,” promises Barbara. That means over 160 quality fabrics, not to mention a portable changing room. Most importantly, it also means the laptop, with a 3D model allowing buyers to view every small detail of the tailoring process – right down to the stitching. No element is overlooked, from button threads to monograms, from collar height to cuffs.
“There are no restrictions,” underlines Łukasz, “whatever design you imagine, we’ll make it.” Yet Bombay do not just offer the opportunity for clients to get playful: the key is all about the sizing. “Ordering a tailored shirt ensures the perfect fit,” says Łukasz, “something you just won’t get if you rely on the high street.”
With the order signed, the next step sees it sent to a state-of-the-art facility in India with the finished product returning to Warsaw within 14 days. Aiming to ‘channel the client’s individuality’, that this operation is entirely affordable (shirts retail from zł. 300-350) has elevated the brand into a must-have bookmark for the gentlemen of Warsaw.
