The Vistula Festival 2023 is rapidly approaching! We’ve already learned the most important details of this year’s event, filled with amazing attractions for both children and adults. When and where will it take place? What will be happening? Let’s find out!
This year’s Vistula Festival is scheduled for Saturday, 2nd September. The first attractions will kick off as early as 5:00 AM, and the entire event will last until 11:00 PM.
The festivities will take place on both sides of the river – at the Plac Desantu and Saska Kępa Beach. Regardless of which bank a participant resides on, everyone can expect a good time.
On the first Saturday of September, we gather by the Vistula and around it to collectively experience its culture, uniqueness, and even cook together. Just like the Summer Season Opening, the Vistula Festival will also commence with a special sunrise cruise and conclude with a fleet parade on the Vistula and a magical sunset concert – the organizers write.
As for the cruises, the following options will be available (starting from Dzielnica Wisła):
o Sunrise over Urzecze – Saska Kępa Beach – 5:00 AM – 8:00 AM; Vistula Nature Cruise – Pier 511 (near Plac Desantu):
o 11:00 AM – 12:15 PM – “Two Shores” cruise (ethnobotanical);
o 12:30 PM – 1:45 PM – “Vistula Laboratory – Discovering the Secrets of the Vistula” cruise (hydrological);
o 2:00 PM – 3:15 PM – “Winged District Wisła” cruise (ornithological);
o Recreational Cruises – Pier 511 (near Plac Desantu) – between 11:00 AM and 5:00 PM – two 30-minute cruises per hour;
o Ship Parade – Saska Kępa Beach – 6:00 PM – 7:00 PM (boarding starts at 5:30 PM).
In addition, workshops will be prepared for the residents, conducted from 12:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Plac Desantu and the beach near it. During the same hours, you’ll be able to visit the “fisherman’s village with household and domestic equipment from Urzecze” and try delicious food. From 4:00 PM to 5:10 PM, dance performances by the Woda na Młyn dance group and the Odpoczno quartet will take place.
Around 7:00 PM, a concert will begin on Saska Kępa Beach. The event will last until 9:00 PM.
It’s worth noting that admission to the prepared events is absolutely free.
