The exhibition presents the work of photographer Izabella Kędzierska, who documented 50 concerts held between 2023 and 2025 at Jassmine, one of the city’s most important live-music venues. Her photographs form a visual chronicle of a project that has grown from a focused showcase into a permanent fixture of Warsaw’s cultural calendar.

Since its launch in January 2023, Warsaw Live Sessions has hosted 50 bands and more than 200 artists, bringing together leading figures of the contemporary Polish jazz scene alongside emerging voices. Among those captured in Kędzierska’s images are Piotr Damasiewicz, Dominik Wania, Rafał Sarnecki, Paweł Kaczmarczyk, Tomasz Chyła, Nene Heroine, Jazzpospolita and Siema Ziemia, as well as younger projects such as Bu/Bry, Klawo, Kosmos, Hania Derej and Twoosty Mayonez. The series has also welcomed international guests, including memorable appearances by Randy Brecker and Mike Stern in collaboration with Polish musicians.

Kędzierska’s photographs move fluidly between the stage and the audience, capturing not only the intensity of live performance but also the distinctive atmosphere of the sessions themselves. Her work reflects the intimacy of solo sets, the energy of full-band concerts and the quiet concentration of an audience that often doubles as a participant in audio and video recordings later shared via JAZZ PO POLSKU’s online channels.

Over the course of three years, more than 10,000 people have attended the concerts — a figure that underlines how deeply the series has embedded itself in the city’s musical life. For many regulars at Jassmine, Warsaw Live Sessions has become inseparable from their experience of contemporary jazz in Warsaw.

Izabella Kędzierska has been working professionally in concert and portrait photography for over seven years, with a particular focus on jazz. Her images have appeared in Jazz Forum, been used for album covers and promotional materials, and earned her finalist status in the MK Jazz Foto competition. She has collaborated with the JAZZ PO POLSKU Foundation since 2022.

The exhibition is on view at Kadr Cultural Center, 21 Gramów Gallery (2nd floor), Rzymowskiego 32, and runs until January 13. Admission is free.
