Though not as high profile as Warsaw’s other gastro streets, Chłodna’s gradual resurgence has been no less spectacular. But fine dining and fancy wine bars aside, it’s actually the more standard venues that make the area feel so complete. Take Ukim, a cheerful joint decorated with steel Tolix chairs and vibrant plants. Covering vast tracts of Asia, the menu, for the most part, feels enjoyable and authentic in equal measure: start with duck and mango spring rolls before moving onto mains such as crispy, sticky chicken with peanut sauce – it’s the kind of comfort food that your weekend requires.
