2028: a centenary and a deadline
The target opening date is 2028, which will mark the 100th anniversary of the institute’s founding by Marshal Józef Piłsudski. For the project’s champions, the symbolism is unmistakable. “It would be a symbolic moment to put this space into use,” says Prof. Kade. Achieving it, however, will require sustained fundraising and partnership-building. The team is actively seeking support from businesses, cultural institutions, and individual donors.
“We want to create a place that is open, engaging, and relevant — not only for specialists, but for the wider public.”

Siudyła is clear about what drives the initiative beyond institutional duty. “We made a conscious decision — not just as representatives of our organisations, but as individuals — that we will make this happen.” It is the kind of personal commitment that, as Prof. Kade notes, distinguishes projects that actually get built from those that remain on paper.
