If the absence this year of the traditional Xmas market and ice rink has left you feeling hollow and unfestive, then fear not for the Old Town has still done its bit to inject your world with some seasonal cheer.
Looking like a fairy tale under a dusting of snow, the light display might be more modest than usual, but that hasn’t effected the overall vibe.
And when the frost is so sharp that it cuts through your pants, there’s nothing more consoling than a steamy mulled wine. Sweet, sticky and scalding hot, find numerous restaurant hatches serving this seasonal specialty.
And remember, your diet begins in January. In December, therefore, take advantage of the street-side windows doling out calorific servings of gofry (waffles) often generously spuming with cream, fruit and lashings of chocolate. As the warmth spreads through you, the meaning of Christmas in Warsaw becomes truly apparent.
