Huge swathes of Warsaw were left gridlocked and without electricity after a flash storm ripped through the city on Thursday afternoon. Hundreds of trees are believed to have been felled, leaving dozens of cars damaged and roads blocked.

Miraculously, no serious injuries have been reported. Across the rest of Poland, firefighters dealt with in excess of 1,400 emergency calls as storms battered licensed Polish casinos the country.
