Tap into the spirit of Christmas this season at Norblin Factory’s Art Box Experience, an immersive experience that will allow visitors to enjoy The Nutcracker in a completely unique way…
Debuting in mid-November, the latest attraction at the Art Box Experience reimagines E. T. A. Hoffmann’s The Nutcracker in a manner that will leave all ages thrilled.
Enshrined in the canon of world ballet, The Nutcracker was first published in Berlin in 1816 before being translated into French by Alexandre Dumas. However, it was elevated to global fame when Pyotr Tchaikovksy adapted it for the ballet stage. Enriched by beautiful music, few spectacles have the capability to evoke the same warm emotions as this popular Christmas classic.
This immersive tale takes viewers back to the atmospheric Warsaw that inspired E.T. A. Hoffmann when he resided here in the early 19 th century, allowing them to immerse themselves in this beautiful winter story.
I hope that the immersive version of this classic Christmas novel will provide both children and adults with many wonderful experiences, says Joanna Kowalkowska, president of the Art Box Experience’s management board. On this occasion, we have prepared – for the first time at ABE – a technological game which, thanks to a smartphone application, lets visitors interact with projections and search for story characters in the world of AR, i.e., augmented reality.
Continuing, she adds: Throughout the exhibition, we have hidden points that, when scanned with a smartphone, will bring the characters to life. You can interact with them; record a video; or, take a photo. Colouring books will be available for those interested, which will also take users to AR. Other amusements include sofas shaped like colourful gifts, projections onto a Christmas tree and a selfie spot created by Creative Pro.
Beyond the impressive technological credentials, other attractions will serve to connect generations such as family workshops. Learn more about the ballet and its creators, or prepare Christmas decorations or your very own nutcracker under the watchful supervision of the Art Box Experience team.
Billed as the first immersive space in Poland – and the wider geographic region – Art Box Experience was created to provide unforgettable, world class entertainment. Combining the latest computer animation techniques and sound sensations with a rich image projection system that uses 360 degree panoramic technology and 3D and 2D animation.
Instead of watching history, say organisers, visitors become part of it. Now, after the spectacular success of shows such as Retro Warszawa and Immersive Monet & the Impressionists, the time has come for Christmas to get the Art Box Experience treatment.
